Welcome note

Dear colleagues,
Dear companions of proteomics,

On behalf of the German Society for Proteomics and the European Proteomics Association, it is my great pleasure to invite you to Würzburg from November 29 to December 3, 2026 – a city where scientific excellence, history, and human interaction merge in a unique way.

Proteomics is entering a transformative era. As molecular research accelerates and technologies reshape the landscape of biomedicine, systems biology, and clinical diagnostics, EuPA 2026 will serve as a central forum to explore the latest advances, challenge current paradigms, and shape the future of our field.

With eight high-level plenary lectures and seventeen specialized symposia covering diverse aspects of proteomics, the scientific program has been carefully designed to reflect both the breadth and depth of current research. Cutting-edge methodologies, novel biological insights, and translational applications will be at the heart of our discussions.

Proteomics is more than a discipline—it is a lens into the molecular dynamics of life, a driver of therapeutic innovation, and a strategic compass for precision medicine. EuPA 2026 will be the place to critically assess where we stand, where we are heading, and how we can work together to accelerate discovery.

We particularly encourage contributions from early-career researchers and industry partners, whose perspectives and innovations are vital to advancing the field. By bringing together leading experts, young scientists, and technology pioneers, the Proteomic Forum aims to foster rigorous scientific debate, hands-on knowledge exchange, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

I am confident that the ideas, collaborations, and inspiration generated in Würzburg will resonate well beyond the conference, shaping the trajectory of proteomics in the years ahead.

I wish you stimulating lectures, thought-provoking discussions, and fruitful new collaborations. May EuPA 2026 be both a catalyst for scientific progress and a platform for building lasting connections.
